  Fire costs British industry in excess of 500 million pounds per annum in property damage alone and the added costs of business disruption are incalculable. One third of all fires are caused by sparks from cutting and welding work. The possibility of such fires occurring can be reduced by the introduction of a 'permit to work' system within formal safety procedures.

We have experience of assessing the risks of all activities and of developing procedures to reduce the likelihood of damage and unsafe environments. This is typically achieved by the issue of a permit to work following a rigorous checking questionnaire that ensures a safe method of working.

The issue of a Hot Work Permit, for example, would necessarily address:

• Communications with other employees
• Sprinkler draindown and fire watch arrangements
• Type of work and equipment to be used
• We can either provide a full management service or can produce a Hazard Management manual and then train your staff in its operation.
