Asbestos surveys for Chatsworth

Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House is one of Britain’s best loved historic houses and estates. The home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is set in the magnificent landscape of Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park.

The original house dates back to the 16th Century, but the current house is a little younger. It has undergone many changes over the years which included, during the 20th Century, heating and other building repairs and changes which potentially introduced asbestos containing materials.

Crossways has been responsible for a full asbestos survey of this world famous house and its estate.

Crossways surveyed the whole of the buildings for the presence of presence of asbestos based materials. Our surveyor investigated all areas, including gaining access above the suspended ceilings to view the ceiling voids and also investigating the presence of redundant suspended ceilings within those ceiling voids. He identified the type of ceiling tiles in each area. He investigated the nature and condition of existing pipework insulation and the nature of boarded materials. Crossways provided Chatsworth with a detailed report and recommendations including an asbestos register to assist with ongoing asbestos management.
