The HSE strongly recommends the use of UKAS-accredited surveyors for surveys.
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
In order to acquire and maintain accrediation in the first instance, Crossways was subject to a detailed and in-depth review of all protocols, procedures and records against the requirements of the ISO standards. In the three successive years, UKAS conducts surveillance visits, lasting two days, during which they may inspect any aspect of Crossways' business relevant to the accreditations. In the following year, a complete major re-assessment takes place. Additionally, UKAS may inspect, without notice, at any time.
Why should you use a UKAS Accredited Inspection Body ?
UKAS is a member of the
European
co-operation for Accreditation (EA), the
International Accreditation
Forum (IAF) and the
International Laboratory
Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC).
