Crossways provides a "one-stop-shop" where we can fulfill all your asbestos management needs:-
We provide our range of services direct to public bodies,
commercial organisations, building managers and professionals. For example we
handle all the asbestos management, survey and training needs of M&S.
Crossways was established in response to growing industry needs for asbestos survey , asbestos management and asbestos consultancy. The
HSE's determination to remove asbestos risks from the workplace led to much
demanding new legislation and many Guidance Notes and Codes of Practice. This
means that building owners and managers can no longer rely simply on the
appointment of a contractor to carry out 'necessary work' for the removal of
asbestos containing materials.
It is most important to secure advice from specialists and Crossways is
perfectly positioned to provide this for you.The law requires an employer to
prevent an employee's exposure to asbestos 'when any work with asbestos or
with any product containing asbestos is carried out by the employer'. The
simplest bit of repair work may result in the disturbance of asbestos. In
addition, the onus is clearly upon the employer to ensure that a contractor
is meeting the regulatory demands. Employers are also required to ensure that
employees are not exposed to respirable asbestos fibres whilst carrying out
their normal working activities (and the duty is neither to damage nor spread
asbestos). Crossways will offer consultancy and advice, training for your
staff, conduct asbestos surveys and provide ongoing asbestos management for
you to help you to ensure you meet your obligations.
It is important also to recognise that not all types or forms of asbestos
pose the same level of risk. Indeed, some may require no treatment at all.
Our asbestos survey and asbestos risk assessment will help to identify where
action is required and our asbestos management service will help you to
manage those ongoing risks.
See our summary of the implications in our Asbestos Management page. All Crossways protocols and procedures ensure that we fulfill the requirements of the updated regulations.
